Starting with a kosher-certified, corn-based neutral spirit, Gothic’s botanicals are sourced through the San Francisco Herb Company, which looks for the highest quality and sustainably sourced ingredients. Alongside juniper are coriander seeds, Angelica root, orris root and Lampong pepper from Indonesia.
Gothic Gin follows London Dry methodology, which is just a single distillation with the grain steeped in the pot with its traditional ingredients. However, the vapour infusion with eucalyptus and Valencia orange peel means it’s classified as a contemporary gin.

GIN SOCIETY TASTING NOTES
The lampong black peppercorns arrive on the nose with that juniper that makes this a gin to get excited about. When it drops on the palette, the eucalyptus gives you that menthol which is going to work well in a G&T garnished with some fresh herbs. The citrus is subtle yet apparent. This gin is definitely a G&T gin; I'm mixing it with Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water and garnishing with a rosemary sprig.

THE GIN GUIDE
Gothic Gin is bold and flavourful, combining orange peel and eucalyptus distinctively and effectively. It has a distinguishable and familiar classic core of juniper, angelica root, orris root and coriander seeds, enhanced with sweet citrus and the bright and green herbal character of the eucalyptus. Black pepper adds balance and the gin opens up further with a dash of water or tonic. It holds its flavour and balance well when mixed, and orange peel is an ideal garnish starting point. As the American gin industry grows, Gothic Gin is certainly an exciting spirit and brand.
