GARDEN GROWN GIN

🇦🇺 Australia
GARDEN GROWN GIN is currently out of stock and unavailable for purchase.

Made with flowers handpicked from the distillery’s own garden, Garden Grown Gin is a delicate, floral-forward gin.

In Garden Grown Gin’s floral-forward offering, two botanicals – murraya and rose – truly blossom alongside chamomile, sage, angelica, orris root and, of course, juniper. The distinctive flavours and aromas of the Erina gardens are perfectly captured using a process called enfleurage, which is more commonly associated with making perfume than distilling alcohol.

With enfleurage, the flowers are picked by the Garden Grown Gin team and arranged on a bed of coconut fat for a few days. The essential oils are absorbed into the coconut fat, which is then added to the alcohol.

GIN SOCIETY TASTING NOTES

A lot of thought has been given to the gin’s botanical make-up and the method used to extract the flavours, and Garden Grown Gin is a great example of an Australian contemporary gin. The taste is elegantly floral with balanced juniper, a touch of soothing camomile and savoury hints. The peppery finish makes it a well-rounded gin.

GIN FOLLY

Garden Grown Gin is formerly Distillery Botanica Gin. They also do special collaborations like the one with The Botanical Gardens and “possibly the most Australian gin ever made” with Mount Annan Botanic Garden. The distiller is Phillip Moore; the bottles are beautiful; and the gin is heaven.

“The French perfumers' time-honoured technique of enfleurage is used to extract the delicate scent and flavour from the hero botanical Murraya. It along with Chamomile, Sage, Rose, Angelica, Orris Root and of course Juniper bring this floral gin alive. On the nose, there are hints of jasmine, sweet honeysuckle and orange blossom.”
